As part of continued improvements to the Water System, two (2) water main projects are anticipated for the Spring/Summer of 2022 in Castanea Township.
Please note that when work is being performed in front of your property, there may be a short period of time when you will not have access to your driveway or to water service. The contractor will be instructed to notify each property of any such disruptions in advance so you can be prepared.
The projects are described as follows:
Mackey Avenue Water Main Replacement
This project will replace the existing water main on Mackey Avenue from Keller Street to Grape Street within the public right-of-way. The project includes a new water main, valves, and fire hydrants. Water services for all residences currently connected, will be replaced from the new main to the curb line where a new curb stop valve will be installed. The existing water service on the property owners’ side of the curb will be reconnected to the new curb stop valve. All areas disturbed during the construction will be properly restored at the completion of the project.
McElhattan Avenue Water Main Replacement
This project will replace the existing water main on McElhattan Avenue from Keller Street to past Quiggle Avenue within the public right-of-way. The project includes a new water main, valves, and fire hydrants. Water services for all residences currently connected, will be replaced from the new main to the curb line where a new curb stop valve will be installed. The existing water service on the property owners’ side of the curb will be reconnected to the new curb stop valve. All areas disturbed during the construction will be properly restored at the completion of the project.
