The City of Lock Haven encourages all residents to educate themselves about the use of pesticides and herbicides at their residences.  The Penn State Cooperative Extension offers eco-friendly resources to control pests including insects, plant diseases and weeds.

All City of Lock Haven employees who apply pesticides and herbicides in the City are licensed applicators, and reference the Pesticide Hypersensitivity Registry prior to any application.  The City monitors the use of pesticides and herbicides by its employees and works to reduce their use by all municipal departments.
