The City of Lock Haven is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Water Foreman for the city’s system which provides an average of 1 million gallons a day of fresh water to our more than 3,200 customers. The Water Foreman oversees the day-to-day operation of the city’s water distribution system which includes the city, and portions of both Wayne and Castanea townships. The crew the foreman oversees read, replace, and test customer meters; operate leak detection devices to identify areas for improvement and repair; and repair underground leaks in the city’s distribution system with a profession crew experienced in excavation, pipefitting, and restoration work. The Water Foreman should be a DEP certified Class E (Water) operator or become certified within 1 year.
Working in conjunction with the city’s Public Property Foreman, the Water Foreman oversees and operates the city’s dams and reservoirs of Ohl (near Loganton), Keller (Wayne Twp.), and Upper Castanea (Castanea Twp.). The Water Foreman also works collaboratively with the operators of the Central Clinton County Water Filtration Authority and the Suburban Water Authority to ensure successful operation of these three interconnected systems.
