The City of Lock Haven Fire Department is made up of two volunteer fire corporations:
- Citizens Hose Fire Co. 5 located at 415 Bellefonte Ave.
- Eastside Fire Rescue located at 124 E. Church St.
The Fire Department relies heavily on the support of volunteers who make up 80% of the workforce. The City also employs 9 fire staff members (3 full-time and 6 part-time) who provide manpower at each station from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 7 days a week. On-call fire personnel cover the remaining hours. This system provides for a rapid response to any and all emergencies in the City at any time of the day or night.
The City of Lock Haven Fire Department is overseen and administered by:
- Fire Chief Tyler Wooding
The City of Lock Haven is split into two fire districts that are managed by two district fire chiefs:
- District Fire Chief Eric Brungard (Citizens Hose Station)
- District Fire Chief Jacob Neff (Eastside Station)
The Fire Department Advisory Board is composed of five members from the Fire Department that acts as a dispute settling body and provides recommendations to the City of Lock Haven. Each district appoints two volunteer members to act on their behalf. The Fire Chief, by virtue, is the fifth member of the Board and acts as the City’s representative.
